Fun 2 year old activity!

The kids and I went to Michaels last week to pick up some paint supplies I needed for my etsy signs (would love for you to check out my new shop!) and we ended up coming across a handful of super cute bird houses for painting. When I saw those babies were 50% off I thought it would be such a fun project for Greyson! So he got to pick out his favorite one (Cost me $2!!) and we headed out since I had brushed and washable paint at home. Who doesn't love a cheap but super entertaining project that keeps your toddler busy for a good 30-45 minute!? Michaels or Joanne's really gets those creative juices flowing for me, so I love wandering around for fun new activities for the kids, so couldn't have been happier to come across this painting project. I try as much as possible to keep TV to the bare minimum and get outside to play, do crafts, play with their bazillion toys, just anything to get their minds working and not staring at a screen. So painting, although can be frightening when you have walls and carpet and furniture that paint can travel to, it's still a fun one to teach them about creativity ANNNNDDD staying in their painting zone only. :)

So this activity we used this birdhouse found at Michaels, we used our Crayola washable paints and got to painting! He did such a great job and loved getting into all the corners and switching up colors. I loved just sitting their watching him as I could tell how interested and happy he was doing this all by himself. I've found over the last year especially that he's getting more and more creative so who knows, maybe he'll be a painter one day! Or his latest obsession has been taking photos with our camera (slightly terrifying as I'm so worried he's going to drop it, but he's actually nailed some nice photos! LOL - see below!)

The finished product, our little Picasso :)

Greyson's pro photography skills of his little brother!

I look forward to doing more painting projects like this and including Jaxon once he gets a little bigger and eating the paint isn't his main priority...

Sharing all about my favorite burrito bowls and our trip to La Quinta next time!

Fashion Island - Koi Pond adventure

This weekend we decided to stroll through Fashion Island in Newport Beach with the kids, as I thought they'd love to see the Koi pond and boy was I right! Those fish are HUGE and quite frankly give me the feeling like they'd be capable of swallowing my hand if given the opportunity. So I kept a safe distance with the kids, although Jaxon continued to do his typical move where he tries to back himself into any body of water he finds...be it a pool, pond, puddle, you name it he's backing in. It was a perfect day and we got a good laugh when we walked into Victorias Secret and Greyson decided to shout "Boobies!" for all to hear. Thank god that kid is 2 as everyone thought it was cute, but we exited pretty promptly after that, lol.

I mean...look at the size of these guys!

Look who's standing on his own!

Doesn't seem he's enjoying this Gelato cone at all. Not one bit.

Hope you all are having a fantastic weekend!

Water play kinda day

Yesterday we had closer to an 80 degree day, so I gathered a couple tubs, some various scoops and funnels and we enjoyed a nice activity outside and shockingly they played around with this water activity for an hour!! Yes, a full hour of peaceful brother play...it was amazing. I feel like more times than not when i've come up with some sort of fun activity they tend to play with it shorter than the time it actually took me to put it together so when a day like today happens I'm stoked.

The big brother sabotage in action...

The aftermath...

I just loved how cute his tiny legs looked all crossed under the table...adorable!

This is a typical lunch day, Jaxon eating peacefully and Greyson off running a muck!

A big milestone that is happening at the moment is Jaxon taking his first steps! He's up to 15 steps on his own which we're so excited to see. Carrying a 25lb child around all the time really starts to kill your biceps, or lack there of... So getting him to walk will be such a relief on my arms!! But I was able to snap a really quick picture off my phone yesterday of him strolling over. Loving this stage! Can't wait though for him to solely walk as right now it's about 10% walking and the rest scurrying on his hands and knees through the house lol.

Hope you're all having a nice week and I'm looking forward to my next post about some fun Easter wood signs I'm working on to add to my Etsy shop!

Peanut butter chocolate ball dessert! Delicious!!

You guys...this is the best bite size dessert for any gathering, or just to hoard yourself at home...so so delicious. I started making these last Christmas for a few parties we went to and that we had at our home and in addition have made them for additional gatherings like the girls night I went to last night. So easy and and scrumptious, just make sure you have a nice cold glass of milk near by as that peanut butter really quenches your milk thirst!

So I've always coated these in milk chocolate, but if you wanted to do them for maybe a Bridal Shower or Baby Shower you could coast these in white chocolate to give them a softer look and could top them off with blue or pink sprinkles or for a bridal shower you could add edible glitter or just little edible pearls, the options are endless!

Here's the recipe, hope you enjoy!

Happy Valentines Day!

Everyday is a good day to spread love but on Valentines Day it's a must! I love being able to do fun, new things on this little Hallmark holiday with the kids, so we enjoyed some themed crafts and made some delicious sweets!

Lee has always taken care of a special dinner for the two of us, but I've always liked to do something Valentines themed for breakfast. So this morning I made a healthy(ish) breakfast for he and I and then the kids got cute heart shaped pancakes! Although I wanted to have a mostly healthy breakfast for Lee and I, donuts were a must since I had this donut sign in mind... lol.

After Jaxon's morning nap, the kids and I headed off to the park so we could run out some of that morning syrup-energy!

I'm bummed this photo ended up blurry, but loved how it showed the boys being typical brothers, wrestling around. Brings my happiness :)

Love this picture...Greyson strutting off like a boss while Jaxon is cracking up behind  him haha

Finishing off the afternoon with decorating cookies. :)

Hope everyone has a LOVEly Valentines day!

Now Selling Birthday Chalkboard Posters!

I loved making both Jaxon and Greyson's birthday chalkboard posters completely from scratch! No templates, nothing, just plugged away designing whenever the kids were sleeping and I love how they turned out! After family and friends saw them and I got such sweet comments I thought why not put them together for others! So with that I have opened an Etsy shop to sell them. I'm going to continue creating numerous different layouts/designs of the boards so check back at my shop and here on the blog to see what's new. Would love for you guys to support this new shop and buy chalkboard prints for your kids!
Chalkboard #1

Chalkboard #2
Each of the above boards matched the color schemes perfectly with my kids birthday parties and I love that I could print both a large 11" x 14" and frame it for a party decoration and then I also print a 5"x7" to save for their baby books. I look forward to looking back at all these early years and seeing those little details you can forget many years later as we all know how our memories tend to not be so sharp after numerous children haha. I hope you guys like these and again would love to make one for any of your kids or friends kids that may be interested! Please visit my new etsy site at https://www.etsy.com/shop/EnchantedHolidaysbyK/

Thanks everyone!

Dinosaur 1st Birthday for our little Jaxon

This year seemed to fly by faster than ever. I can't believe our little Jaxon is already one years old and zooming past all those little things that qualify him more as a baby and not as a toddler. He's not drinking bottles anymore, just straight up whole milk from a sippy cup! Where has my baby gone!? He's moments away from walking. He waves, talks (babbles) up a storm, and is now really letting us know when he's not interested in what we're asking of him...Now if that's not showing toddler symptoms I don't know what is. It's crazy in and of itself that we can now say we have 1 year old and a 2 year old ( *insert bug eyed face!*)  Although having 2 toddlers really is something to enjoy as they are both experiencing all of life's amazing things together and having them grow up so close in age I hope inspires them to forever be great friends.

So this weekend we celebrated Jaxon's 1st birthday with a fun Dinosaur theme party and I LOVE how it all turned out. But what I love more are all the family and friends that took the time to be here to celebrate with us. We had many drive all the way up from San Diego and my brother even drove 8 hours to get here, so we are incredibly grateful! It always means so much to me when people get together to celebrate my kids, so I'm eternally grateful for the amazing people in our lives, so to all of you THANK YOU! We're extremely blessed having you all in our lives.
Pardon the backdrop...the wind blew the sides over the back so after this photo I ended up fixing it and taping it down. Not sure why I didn't retake these photos but none the less, I loved how the wall turned out.

Our little dino nest out front!

I had everyone sign a dinosaur themed book as a little party momento for Jaxon

Lots of fun food like dinosaur shaped sandwiches, herbivore cups of veggies and delicious jungle pasta
My fun backdrop board!

I made custom water bottle wraps - custom everything makes it so much fun!

My attempt at making a 2 tier fondant cake didn't come out as well as I'd hope but whatever, looked cute on top of the cupcake tower lol

So for this party I went nuts using my Cricut Air 2 making tons of different dinosaur decorations. Anyone that loves crafting and doesn't have one of these, stop reading this and go buy one. It's A-MAZE-ING! I made centerpieces, Jaxon's monthly milestone banner and his Happy Birthday Banner on the big backboard of the drink/dessert table. The silverware charms, I even whipped up his happy birthday card, that I forgot to make, at 9pm (anyone that really knows me will tell you this is very late for me to be up doing anything...you'd think I was a 90 year old woman as I love to be in bed watching Friends by 8ish LOL).

I then used my new Photoshop program and made this chalkboard print to show people a little more about what milestones Jaxon was at, the things he loves and anything else that gave people a little more insight on who this special boy of ours really is. :)

We couldn't be happier with how the party turned out and how gracious everyone was! Based on these last couple photos you can really tell how happy Jaxon was all day. Between a bounce house slide, gift wrap galore, yummy food, a bunch of friends and family and a giant bow, who wouldn't be happy!? Hope you all have a great rest of your weekend!!

Love,
Kaylin
